Birding @ Black Balsam, Pisgah Forest

Join the Feminist Bird Club (FBC) of Asheville and Birders of the Tuckaseegee Watershed as we combine forces to explore this beautiful high elevation bald and forest off the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is great Canada Warbler and Chestnut-sided Warbler habitat and is a popular birding hotspot with amazing views.

The Feminist Bird Club is dedicated to promoting inclusivity in birding while fundraising and providing a safe opportunity for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, and women to connect with the natural world. Tuck Birders supports and shares this mission as we strive to cultivate a diverse community of ecological stewards and birders from all backgrounds and financial means.

This event is FREE and OPEN TO ALL. Loaner binoculars available for beginners.

Meeting location will be at the Black Balsam Knob Trailhead at 8am.

Carpool available from Food Lion Supermarket in Sylva at 7am.
